Herne's Sports Day

Please note the later time of 10am start due to a conflicting Infant school event. 

We will be holding our annual Sports Day on Thursday 12^th July. Parents are very welcome to come and join us. The event will begin with every child competing for their house in a large rotation of different sporting events and then we will finish with the traditional sprints, relays and long distance events. All parents are welcome to stay for a whole school picnic lunch on our field, after the trophy has been awarded to the winning house. We are asking for children to come in PE kits (with hats on and lots of sunscreen lotion) and they can stay in these kits throughout the day! If the weather is very hot, we will make sure the children are positioned in the shade when they watch the running events, however this will mean that parent spectators are positioned in the sun, so please bring hats and sun tan lotion for yourselves. If the weather is bad, then the reserve date is Monday 16^th July (hopefully we won’t need this date!)  The start time of 10am should give time for parents with infant children to come to Herne after the Leavers’ Assembly at Petersfield Infant School.
